Male Fertility

Male Fertility Problems. Why are they caused?

male_infertilityMale fertility is capacity of sperm cells for egg fertilization. That’s why, it much depends on the quantity, mobility and activity of sperm cells, the reserve of which is renewed every 72 days. Each year male fertility is decreased under the influence of various negative factors like smoking, alcohol, anabolic steroids, sedentary life-style, mobile phones etc.

vv_icoSmoking. Each cigarette takes off few mg of Vitamin C which is so necessary for healthy sperm. That’s why, smokers are more likely to have children with congenital defects.

vv_icoAlcohol is viewed to be poison for testicles which are responsible for the production and maturation sperm cells. As the result, abuse of alcohol results in weak and rudimentary posterity.

vv_icoDrugs and anabolic steroids. Such virulent drugs like marijuana, cocaine and heroin decrease the concentration of sperm cells nearly in 2 times and its long-timed usage might cause male infertility.  On the other hand, steroids stop the development of sex hormones which further negatively influences sperm quality.

vv_icoOverheating of testicles. Sperm cells mature at the temperature of 33-34 C. Long overheating (hot bath, sauna, too tight underwear, putting laptop on your knees etc) harmfully results on the sperm.

vv_icoIntake of medicines. Some medicines like Cimetidinum, various antibiotics and some drugs against oncological and autoimmune diseases disturb cells division.

vv_icoMobile phones. Numerous researches confirm that mobile phones radiation negatively effect sperm quality.

Male fertility  is tightly connected with diseases of urogenital system and previous infantile infections (e.g. mumps, rubella). Diabetes and viral hepatitis at a mature age are quite harmful and dangerous for male fertility.  Decrease of fertility might be caused by the overweight, unhealthy nutrition which lacks Vitamin C and zinc, abuse of sauna. Too frequent sex results in the significant  loss of sperm cell concentration and predominance of immature sperm cells in the ejaculate. Prolonged or interrupted sexual acts seriously disturb male fertility.
